The International Cycling Classic is Coming to Lake Geneva
The Cove of Lake Geneva is proud to announce itself as an official sponsor of The Point Premium Root Beer International Cycling Classic and SUPERWEEK Pro Tour.
The 2010 International Cycling Classic will be celebrating their 42nd year, starting this coming week, during their 17 consecutive days of high caliber racing from July 9th – 25th. These races will be taking place throughout 14 city centers within Wisconsin and Illinois, with one of their city center locations being Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The Lake Geneva Criterium Race will take place on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 with the first race beginning at 9:00am and the last race starting at 5:45pm. There will be six categories of races throughout the day on Lake Geneva’s one mile course that will offer participants constant action during their ride. Lake Geneva’s course will have riders traveling up Center Street, turning right onto Main Street, making a right on Wells Street to head back towards Geneva Lake, and finally coming back around on Baker Street to the starting line on Center Street.
The criterium course in downtown Lake Geneva will offer riders spectacular views of Geneva Lake and will have spectators lined up among the great shops, bars, and restaurants that line the streets of Lake Geneva.
The Cove of Lake Geneva will be offering spectators and riders a special rate of $99.00 per night, which will place them on the sidelines of Lake Geneva’s course and also on the shores of Geneva Lake.

Stay at The Cove of Lake Geneva and Play at Geneva National Golf Course
The Cove of Lake Geneva and Geneva National Golf Club have recently partnered up to create a ‘Stay and Play’ Package for visitors to take advantage of when planning their next vacation to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
To book the package, all guests need to do is call Geneva National Golf Club and choose how many nights they would like to stay at The Cove of Lake Geneva, decide how many rounds of golf they would like to play on Geneva National’s Championship Courses, and then sit back as the reservations team builds the guest’s individualized package "to a tee." Guests will also be given the opportunity to chose from three different courses at Geneva National, as well as two levels of ‘Stay and Play’ packages, one which includes an 18-hole round per person per day or one which includes unlimited golf per day.
All ‘Stay and Play’ packages can also be completed with a meal or two at Geneva National’s award winning restaurants.

The Cove of Lake Geneva “Gives Kids The World”
This summer The Cove of Lake Geneva will be hosting ice cream socials every Saturday at the resort in benefit of the foundation, Give Kids The World.
Give Kids The World is a non-profit resort in Central Florida that makes dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses and their families. The Give Kids The World program provides these children and their families with weeklong, worry free vacations that include everything from travel, accommodations at the resort, meals, donated tickets to attractions and much more.
With the help of many generous donators, Give Kids The World hosts more than 7,000 families each year and has served over 100,000 families since 1986 from all 50 states and 70 countries.
This summer, The Cove of Lake Geneva is proud to help raise money and awareness for this great cause by holding ice cream socials every Saturday starting Memorial Day weekend all the way through July, when The Cove will take part in the nationwide event, “Ice Cream for Breakfast”.
“Ice Cream for Breakfast” is a national campaign dedicated to raising money and awareness for Give Kids The World. This July, with the assistance of The Cove and other great sponsors, Give Kids The World is hoping to create the biggest ice cream social ever!

The Cove of Lake Geneva Has Just Updated Their Suites
The Cove of Lake Geneva has just finished renovating and updating their suites to provide their future guests with a more modern look and feel.
The Cove’s suites now feature new couches, coffee tables, dining room tables, and framed pictures, among other things, in the hopes of providing guests with a new, updated look.
The Cove of Lake Geneva had approximately 180 suite owners who graciously decided to donate the former furniture from their suites to the local charity “The Time is Now”, whose main focus is helping the poverty stricken children, elderly, and handicapped in the Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois area. Lake Geneva Jaycees Members picked up the donated furniture Sunday, April 25th, 2010, which will go to help Twin Oaks and the Agape House, as well as those who were recently affected by a fire in the area.
Frank Guske, who works with both “The Time is Now” foundation and the WC Food Pantry, has said that they received more furniture than what was originally anticipated and that this amount of furniture will continue to be used by families for years to come.
The Cove of Lake Geneva is very grateful that it could help serve in the community and that the furniture can be used in such a wonderful way, as well as being very excited for future guests to enjoy the new furniture that can now be found in their suites.

The Cove of Lake Geneva Is the Host Hotel for the National Snow Sculpting Competition
Lake Geneva, WI- February 1, 2010- The Cove of Lake Geneva is once again the host hotel for the National Snow Sculpting Competition, which will take place in downtown Lake Geneva on February 1st - 7th, 2010. Each year sculptors come from various places in the United States to compete. Sculptors enjoy the luxury suites at The Cove of Lake Geneva during their stay. The Cove hosts a welcome reception for the competing teams and is a gold sponsor of the event.
Monday, February 1st and Tuesday, February 2nd the 9-foot snow blocks for the event will be being built in the Riviera Park. Wednesday, February 3rd through Friday, February 5th the national snow sculpting teams will begin their snow sculpting in the Riviera Park from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm daily.
Saturday, February 6th starts the official Winterfest celebration in the Riviera Park. The sculpting of the snow sculptures ends at 11:00 am. From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm viewers can vote for their favorite snow sculpture. Ballots will be available both in the Winterfest Souvenir Program Book and on site. The ballot box will be located in the Riviera Park.
From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm visitors will enjoy entertainment, food, and refreshments, along with children's sculpting, wagon rides, helicopter rides, tethered hot air balloon rides, and sleigh on wheel rides. The day will also include Children’s entertainment in the Riviera Marketplace from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
At 3:00 pm the public will be invited to watch the US National Snow Sculpting Awards Presentation.
On Sunday, February 7th visitors will enjoy viewing ice sculptures all day as well as entertainment, food, and refreshments from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The day’s entertainment will include a blue grass and country band in the Riviera Park.
On both Saturday and Sunday of the event, visitors will also be able to purchase raffle tickets for Midwest Express Airline Tickets and obtain information from gold sponsors of the event, including businesses such as: The Cove of Lake Geneva, Celebrations On Wells Catering, City of Lake Geneva, Community Shoppers, Inc., Downtown Business Improvement District and Starbucks Coffee. The Cove of Lake Geneva will have an information booth set up at Winterfest on Saturday, February 6th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday, February 7th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Stephanie Wottreng Wins a Trip to Las Vegas Courtesy of The Cove of Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva, WI- January 18, 2010- The Cove of Lake Geneva will be sending Stephanie and Tom Wottreng on an all expenses paid vacation to Las Vegas, NV on February 13-15th, 2010.
Stephanie and Tom were attendees of The Cove of Lake Geneva’s Kings and Queens Royal Gala which took place on October 2nd-4th, 2009. This event was catered towards The Cove’s most select guests to show appreciation for their continued loyalty and patronage.
On Saturday night of this weekend long event, guests boarded the Lady of the Lake for a full lake tour of Geneva Lake. Guests’ spent their time aboard the boat trying their luck on several different types of table games, including: Texas hold ‘em, blackjack, roulette, and craps. Each guest was presented with a $5000 chip upon boarding the boat with the hopes to end the night with the highest winnings.
At the end of the night, prizes were awarded to the top five money winners. Stephanie had the highest winnings of the evening and was awarded an all inclusive trip to Las Vegas!
Stephanie and her husband Tom will enjoy round trip airfare aboard AirTran Airways and will be spending a wonderful weekend at The Mirage on the Las Vegas strip.

Ring In The New Year at The Cove of Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva, WI- December 16, 2009- The Cove of Lake Geneva will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball on December 31, 2009. The Ball will begin at 7:00 pm and will last through 1:00 am. Guests are asked to arrive in their dramatic masquerade attire, including their mysterious mask, to find themselves shrouded in luxury for a truly unforgettable evening filled with bright colors, lights, and mystique.
The Masquerade Ball will include accommodations in any one of The Cove of Lake Geneva’s seven luxury suite types which will include a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival.
The Masquerade Ball will begin with hors d’oeuvres being served at 7:00 pm and an open bar from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Following hors d’oeuvres, guests will be served a four course dinner including a salad, their choice of breast of chicken provencal, Atlantic salmon jardenaire, king filet mignon, or surf and turf, over roasted potatoes with olive oil and fresh rosemary, medley of winter vegetables, fresh baked dinner rolls and butter rosettes, and chocolate confusion cake on a bed of raspberry sauce with crème englase.
Guests will spend the remainder of their evening dancing to live music with a champagne toast at midnight. Party favors will also be handed out to guests throughout the night.
